The reason for this website is to act as both a photographic catalogue and as an aid to the identification of various native Australian plants - Eucalyptus, Acacia, Fungi and Tasmanian native plants in particular. The identifications provided are based off observations in the field, from the photographs themselves and by consulting various resources both via digital and traditional media. Sources used in the identification of plants and fungi is cited with the identification information. The author of this site takes no responsibility for errors resulting from the use of information (either correct or incorrect), provided on this website.

About the author

Heather Elson works for Steve Parish Publishing as an image cataloguer and now lives in southern Tasmania photographing and studying the amazing variety of Tasmanian flora and fauna. Heather's aim is to combine her interest in digital publishing, the environment and botany to provide a useful resource for people wanting to try to learn about and identify Australian native plants. Heather is an external fourth (final) year student of Environmental Science, Central Queensland University.
