Corymbia ficifolia (F. Muell.) K. D. Hill & L. A. S. JohnsonFamily: Myrtaceae, Subfamily: Myrtoideae, Tribe: Eucalypteae, Genus: Corymbia Common Name: Red-flowering GumDistribution: Native to south-east Perth region of Western Australia, however widely cultivated. Specimen featured was photographed in Tasmania in April. General Information: Leaves: Adult leaves alternate, ovate to broad lanceolate, discolourous, dull to slightly glossy, reticulation very dense, intramarginal vein present and close to leaf margin, oil glands obsure, absent island. Bark: Rough to small branches, fibrous Fruit: Urn-shaped, disc vertically descending, valves 3 or 4.
