Family: Myrtaceae, Subfamily: Myrtoideae, Tribe: Eucalypteae, Genus: Eucalyptus, Subgenus: Symphyomyrtus, Section: Maidenaria Common Name: Heart-leaved silver gum, Silver dollar Eucalyptus Distribution: Endemic to Tasmania, mountains of central plateau, south and south-east Tas., sea level to 750 metres. General Information: Of economic importance for tannin/ dyestuff Bark: Smooth, greenish yellow, white, brown Leaves: Glaucous, edges crenulate, oil glands island or intersectional, veination is moderate to dense. Inflorescences: Three buds per umbel, usually sessile, glaucous, operculum beaked, scar present.
