Common Name: Maiden's gum

Distribution: NSW, VIC. Specimen photographed here was taken in Tasmanian Botanical Gardens. Unsure of identification as only some of characteristics appear to match.

General Information:

Leaves: leaves alternate, blade lanceolate to falcate. Concolourous, dense reticulation with intramarginal vein parallel to and distant from margin. Oil glands island and intersectional.

Bark: Strips,slabs shedding, bark yellowish, cream, or pale orange.

Fruit: Obconicle, slightly ribbed longitudinally or not so, disc raised-convex or disc level,valves 3 or 4, exserted or near rim level.

Inflorescences: auxillary, flattened peduncle, buds 7 per umbel. Mature buds clavate to pyriform, slightly ribbed, green or glaucous, smooth or warty, scar present.
