Eucalyptus lehmannii

Eucalyptus lehmannii (Schauer) Benth.

Family: Myrtaceae, Subfamily: Myrtoideae, Tribe: Eucalypteae

Genus: Eucalyptus, Subgenus: Symphyomyrtus, Section: Bisectae,

Common Name: Spider gum

Distribution: Native to Western Australia, planted as an ornamental.

General Information:

Leaves: Adult leaves alternate, elliptical, apex pointed reticulation sparse to moderate, oil glands obscure or scattered, intersectional.

Bark: Smooth grey, brown, orange-brown, shedding in strips.

Inflorescences: auxillary, unbranched, syncarpous (buds fused at hypanthium), Flowers green-yellow appearing as fluffy balls. Buds syncarpous, yellow to green, long horn shaped up to approx. 6.5cm in length.

Fruit: Woody, syncarpous structure up to around 10cm wide.
