Family: Myrtaceae, Subfamily: Myrtoideae, Tribe: Eucalypteae, Genus: Eucalyptus, Subgenus: Symphyomyrtus, Section: Maidenaria Common Name: Swamp gum, Black gum Distribution: New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia General Information: Bark: Smooth barked, with flaky basal bark towards base of tree. Leaves: Lanceolate to ovate, no visible oil glands in the leaves, dense reticulation. Inflorescences: Auxillary, unbranched, 7 buds per umbel, diamond-shaped, scar present. Fruit: Funnell-shaped, valves 3 or 4. Flowers white from March until November. Specimen located at Kingston, flowering winter.
