Featuring - The Ghost Moth

The very large Ghost Moth (Abantiades hyalinatus) is about as long as a 50cent coin. They are found in wet mountain forests and the adults only live for one day! We found this one early on it's last day of life because the purple colouration is still quite vivid. Their larvae feed on Eucalyptus.
