Family: SantalaceaeScientific name: Exocarpos cupressiformis Common Name: Common Native-cherry Distribution: Common in light forests TAS, VIC, NSW, ACT, Qld, SA. General Information: Flowers in September - November, small tree to 8metres, leaves reduced to scales. The flower stalks thicken and ripen into red, edible fruit with a ripe ovary on top. Stems grooved. Specimen: Inverawe Native Gardens, TAS, Dec 2009.
